Mark Baker Comments on my Presentation

Mark Baker posts some comments on my presentation. Thanks Mark, although it is naturally going to take me some time to digest THAT LOT!

At first glance, I think some of Mark's points are valid, some are where I have been slightly too loose with my terminology, and some we will have to argue about some more! Constructively, of course. :-)

I have also been having some interesting discussions with Peter Herzum on the area of Architecture Styles too, and some of these will probably make it into the next revision.

Great, Jorgen. I'd be happy to help in any way I can. I certainly think that performing a comparison is a good way forward; as I mentioned, I did this for my "REST Compared" presentation to WS-Arch. My main suggestion would be to evaluate each style with respect to its constituent architectural constraints, which will help you identify the various properties of these styles (sidebar; those approaches you're comparing aren't architectural styles, so you'll need to get more specific about what you're comparing). Then, using these properties, you can make your case as to why you feel that one is or is not more suitable than the others in different contexts. Posted by: Mark Baker on February 12, 2003 03:45 AM
