After a few weeks of side-by-side testing (hey, I am a real enterprise developer at heart you know!), I have now switched my recommended RSS 2.0 feed over to using xhtml:body.
The content:encoded version is still available, for those who find they need it.
To avoid the RSS redirect problem Jon Udell mentions, and to be true to my belief in Cool URLs which don't change I have moved the old contents aside, and placed the new content on the old URL (if you see what I mean). Of course, this highlights the underlying problem of "format versioning", which I mentioned previously, and which I am still noodling on behind the scenes....
