This week the XML Europe 2003 conference was in London, and I was speaking there on Wednesday afternoon.
Over lunch on Wednesday, I was talking to Patrick Gannon, the President and CEO of OASIS. I think he was somewhat impressed that I knew about his sanction vs traction matrix for "real standards", and of course (like almost everyone I meet in this industry!) he knows Annrai O'Toole from way back.
The actual content of the conference was interesting too - especially seeing some of the details of what governments are doing with XML and Web Services - and this is interestingly enough an area where both the UK and Denmark are leading the way. That covers my ancestry on both sides!
Of particular interest to many people may be some best practice rules and guidelines the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation have published, including the following documents:
Some documents are currently only available in Danish, but English translations of all documents are expected "real soon now".
