Using Oxygen XML Editor Offline

I hit some problems using the Oxygen XML Editor while offline.

It seems you can't perform validation while disconnected from a network - when I tried I got a cryptic error message:

E www.w3.org

This looks to me suspiciously like the XML Schema validation is being done by delegating to the W3C Validator web application.

Hi Jorgen, Oxygen uses the latest Xerces J (2.4.0) to validate XML schemas. My guess is that you import some schema from www.w3.org and oXygen tries to access it while you are offline. You may use an XML Catalog to resolve that reference to a local file while keeping the absolute reference in your schema. See Options -> Preferences -> XML Catalog entry. Hi George, You're right - I was importing the xml namespace, which is one of the common ones I thought would be built in. Thanks for the tip about the XML Catalog. I can't get it to work exactly for me (I still get the same error message), but I will keep perservering and maybe log a bug report. I do like the product though.
