Today and tomorrow we are hosting an interop workshop in Redmond to exercise the WS-Federation Passive Requester Profile spec.
There are 7 companies in the room with implementations talking to each other after less than 2 hours testing!
It still catches me somewhat off guard when things work out so quickly like this - my 20 years of experience in the industry says this is not the normal way it works with software, but Web services really are changing all those old rules!
I suspect a lot of workshop participants will be taking a long lunch and going sunbathing this afternoon - it is 70 degF and brilliantly sunny in Redmond today. Beautiful.
