Today is my second anniversary at Microsoft. I can't believe the time has passed so quickly! The job has proven to be as constantly challenging and constantly stimulating as I expected.
During the last two years, I think we've actually changed the way the industry thinks about the standards development process. The WS-* Workshop Process has shown an alternate approach for developing and refining specifications - one that avoids the "design by committee" camel-horse problem, and arguably produces better, more focused specs with broad industry backing and proven interoperable implementations.
Several standards organizations are now exploring "Incubator Groups" that are trying to achieve similar results as the WS-* Workshop Process, so we must have been doing something right!
So, Microsoft really is one of the best places to change the world!
