After a successful Interop Workshop (see the results summary whitepaper) and a re-publication earlier this summer, it was announced at the Enterprise Management World conference this week that the WS-Management specification has now been formally submitted to DTMF - the Distributed Management Task Force.
The Web Services for Management specification (WS-Management) [from AMD, BMC, Computer Associates, Dell, Fujitsu-Siemens, Intel, Microsoft, NEC, Novell , Sun Microsystems, Symantec , and WBEM Solutions], which has been formally submitted to the DMTF, and the Web Services Distributed Management (WSDM) specification from the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS) will be mapped to CIM and other DMTF technologies, resulting in simplified management and lower costs for technology end users.
