Here is a quick update on the status of the Windows Live ID OpenID Community Technology Preview (CTP) endpoints, as lots of people have been asking about that recently.
We gathered a lot of great feedback during the Windows Live ID OpenID Community Tech Preview period, and we have feed that into our team's OpenID product plans. Thank you to everyone that provided feedback -- you have directly impacted the product!
The Production release of Windows Live ID's OpenID Provider (aka "Out-bound OpenID") support will look significantly different from the CTP version, so we are in to process of closing the CTP endpoints to avoid any confusion.
Currently we do not have a schedule that I can publicly share for when we will be releasing full Production support of OpenID for Windows Live ID users, but rest assured we are actively working on providing OpenID functionality to all our 500+ million Live ID users!
